Progressive Slot Versions -Part 1

By Gayle Mitchell

Progressive Slot Players are no longer limited to MegaBucks as slot manufacturers introduce progressive versions at the same time as the companion bonus version hits the casino floor.

Most players are not aware that there are two levels of progressive jackpots -- primary and secondary. Nearly all are at least three coin machines with many graduated jackpots and pay symbol possibilities.

Before playing any single group of progressives, check out the primary and secondary jackpots, and then compare other surrounding progressives on the casino floor to see how high those jackpots are relative to their starting amounts.
After a progressive jackpot is hit, the meter automatically resets to the base jackpot amount.

Listed below are ten progressives worth exploring.

1) Wheel of Fortune progressives are the most popular.
They are available in four denominations--quarters, 1/2 dollar, dollars and five dollars. The dollar version resets to $1million and quarters to $200,000 after every win.

2) Nickel Deluxe is a 5-cent Slot Machine that must have 5 coins played (25 cents) to hit the jackpot. The primary jackpot is paid in annual installments. The jackpot is reset to $250,000.00 after a jackpot is hit.
3) Quarter Deluxeby IGT requires 2 coins played (50 cents) to hit the jackpot. Paid in annual installments, the jackpot is reset to $200,000. after a jackpot hit.

4) The third reel of Progressive Jeopardy 25c slots, played with max. coins, triggers the bonus round when Jeopardy! or Double Jeopardy! symbols appear on the payline. You play Jeopardy among 30 bonus boxes until a stop displays the bonus amount or double depending on original spin. Primary jackpot is paid in installments and reset to $200,000 after win.
Progressive Jeopardy Nickels. You are an instant winner when you play the max. 45 coins with this progressive at the right time. The jackpot is then reset to $100,000 awaiting another jackpot hit.

5) The first Addams Family MegaJackpot was paid to a local woman when the Suncoast Casino opened in Las Vegas. A delightful payday of $278,423 was issued on the spot for this nickel machine jackpot.

6) For Party-Time players, there is a progressive 3-reel, 3-coin version by IGT. Look for the Vision Series platform and a growing jackpot that resets to $100,000 after a hit. This jackpot is paid immediately.

7) Betty Boop's Big Hit is one of Bally's Thrillions series. Starting with a reset $100,000 jackpot and growing, these frequent jackpots are paid immediately. The multi-denomination feature supports games of different denomination to contribute and compete for a common jackpot.

8) Elvis Quarter Progressive: This 3-reel, 3-coin slot sports a bonus feature that plays your favorite tunes: JailHouse Rock, Hound Dog and Heartbreak Hotel among them. The MegaJackpot Instant Winner resets at $100,000 after payment.

9) Jackpot Bingo: Two progressive jackpots, one that resets to $200 grand in NV and $50 grand at Indian casinos. Secondary jackpot reset is 25 grand and 15 coins required to win here. Top jackpot requires maximum coin play of 30 coins and is paid out over a 20-year span.

10) Cash Quest: Party-Time version in progressive format. The bonus board feature starts with third reel where the player hits a button to ‘catch and collect’ bonus wins of 25 up to 1000 coins. A single 10X wild or two=100X jackpot payout. Three party symbols take the progressive jackpot that resets to $100,000. A Progressive Party--what a great idea.

There are more versions listed when we continue our progressive slots search in Part 2.
